Pueraria Root is the root of Pueraria lobata Ohwi (Leguminosae), from which periderm has been removed.
Pueraria Root contains puerarin as an ingredient and is said to have antispasmodic and antipyretic effects. Kuzu powder, made by extracting starch from the roots of Pueraria lobata and refining it, is used for making 'Kuzumochi', a kind of Japanese cakes.
