This plant is a perennial shrub, and grows wild in the southern part of India. The plant height is 100 cm and the flowering period is July to September. Notably, it is called "Tinnevelly Senna" because it is cultivated in Tinnevelly, India. This species prefers high temperature and dry conditions. Its main medicinal component, sennoside, is also found in rhubarb root.
